After trading Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers this July, the Boston Celtics will certainly have a new look in 2026-27.

Anchored by Jayson Tatum, the Celtics will look to build upon a 56-26 record from last season, though that will admittedly be hard without Brown, who has been a key part of the team's rotation for a decade now.

Earlier this week, we learned that the Celtics will play the Miami Heat on Christmas Day, and on Wednesday, we learned their matchups for the third version of the NBA Cup.

And on Thursday, the full NBA schedule was released, featuring these five must-watch games.

The Celtics will open up the season on the road against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET. Now, it's admittedly weird to play a day game on a weekday, but that doesn't mean this isn't an intriguing matchup.

Detroit earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs last season and features Cade Cunningham, one of the best young players in the league and a top-five MVP finisher last season.

While the rest of the world is ready to anoint the 76ers or New York Knicks as the kings of the Eastern Conference, these two teams will have their say too.

This game features New England native Cooper Flagg coming back to his home region and gives Celtics fans their only chance to see him at home this season.

This game will air at 6 p.m. ET, which is convenient considering the New England Patriots play that day at 9:30 a.m. ET in Munich, Germany. Plenty of time for Celtics fans to have a great fall day.

The Christmas Day showdown features two longtime playoff rivals and pits the C's against Giannis with the Heat for the first time. Remember, the Celtics tried to trade for him earlier this offseason, but Miami landed him.

That's what set the whole Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia trade in motion.

After a decade with the Celtics in which he became a multi-time All-Star and a multi-time All-NBA selection, Browns returns to Boston for the first time. It's sure to be the most emotional home game of the season.

Victor Wembanyama, who appears ready to stamp his claim as the best player in the league, makes his only trip to Boston for the season. The Spurs got to the NBA Finals last season and by this point, they'll have a chance to be in the driver's seat for the No. 1 seed in the West this year.
