Tacko Fall is back in the NBA, this time with a Celtics rival.

It looks like Jaylen Brown won't be the only former member of the Boston Celtics to suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, as ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Saturday that big man Tacko Fall has also earned a new chance with Philadelphia.

Fall was in camp on an Exhibit 10 deal, but the 76ers have converted that deal to a two-way contract, which gives him opportunities in both the NBA and the G-League.

More on two-way contracts

1) As noted by the G-League, NBA teams can keep up to three players on two-way contracts.

2) Players who are signed to two-way deals can play up to 50 games on the parent NBA team, and they can play otherwise on the G-League roster.

3) If a player is on a two-way contract, they cannot play in the NBA Playoffs. However, a two-way contract can convert to a standard contract if the team wants, which would make a player playoff eligible.

The Tacko Fall file

Still just 30 years old, Fall is a native of Senegal who played his college basketball at Central Florida. He spent parts of two seasons in Boston, appearing in 26 games before playing 11 games with the 2021-22 Cleveland Cavaliers.

While he averaged less than seven minutes a game in his NBA career, he was well-liked by Boston fans and grew quite a following. He's averaged 2.2 ppg for his career and he appeared in three playoff games for Boston, including two in the NBA Bubble of 2019-20. The Celtics got to the Eastern Conference Finals that season, losing to the Miami Heat before the Los Angeles Lakers eventually won the title.

The Celtics moved on from him before 2021-22, a year in which they advanced to the NBA Finals themselves. Listed at 7-foot-6, Fall was waived by Cleveland in January of 2022. He actually appeared in the NBA's Celebrity Game at All-Star Weekend last season.

While no Celtics fan likes to root for the 76ers in any way, this is an easy thing to root for. Fall is well-liked and has shown good perseverance in his career. He'll now come back and serve as depth for a 76ers team that is always worried about the threat of injury to big man Joel Embiid, who has missed a lot of time throughout his career.

The NBA regular season begins on Tuesday.
