Former Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers is getting inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Aug. 15, and he's going to have a pair of Celtics legends with him as he enters the group.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, both already in the Hall of Fame, will present Rivers for his induction.

Every new Hall of Fame member is being presented by a group of already-inducted Hall of Famers.

In addition to Rivers, the rest of the Hall of Fame Class features former NBA official Joey Crawford, former head coach Mike D'Antoni, Gonzaga coach Mark Few, former All-Star Amar'e Stoudemire, and women's basketball standouts Elena Delle Donne, Chamique Holdsclaw, and Candace Parker.

The 1996 Team USA Basketball Women's National Team is also getting inducted.

Now 64 years old, Rivers has spent 27 years as a head coach with five different teams: He was with the Orlando Magic for five years before going to the Celtics for nine, the Los Angeles Clippers for seven, the Philadelphia 76ers for three and the Milwaukee Bucks for three.

He's got a laundry list of awards to his name, including winning the league's Coach of the Year in 1999-2000. He was also named one of the 15 greatest coaches in league history in 2021-22.

With the Celtics, he went 416-305 for a .577 winning percentage, helping Boston win the NBA title in 2007-08.

A 19-year veteran, Pierce spent 15 years with the Celtics, also serving as a key part of that championship group. In total, he was a 10-time All-Star, a four-time All-NBA selection, and the NBA Finals MVP in 2007-08.

He averaged 19.7 ppg for his career while also shooting 44.5 percent from the floor and 36.8 percent from three-point range.

A 21-year veteran, Garnett spent six years with the Celtics. In total, he was a 15-time All-Star, a four-time rebounding champion, a nine-time All-NBA selection and a 12-time All-Defensive team member. He won the league MVP in 2003-04 with Minnesota and was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 with the Celtics, in addition to winning the title.

The Celtics improved to 3-1 on the Las Vegas Summer League Season on Wednesday night, defeating the Sacramento Kings (1-3) by a score of 82-76.

At 3-1, the Celtics are now done with the "regular season" portion of the Summer League schedule. The top four Summer League teams get a playoff semifinal on July 18 while the Finals are on July 19.

The 26 teams that don't qualify for the playoffs all play a fifth game, sometime between July 17-19.

It's unclear where the Celtics fall as of this posting.
