It's going to happen all year long and it's going to be unavoidable.

People are going to be watching Jaylen Brown's games with the Philadelphia 76ers and comparing them to how the Boston Celtics are doing without him.

It's just simple "breakup routine." People will always be checking in on the ex.

Well, on Monday, Brown provided the Celtics a strong glimpse at what they'll be missing in 2026-27, as he went for 22 points in just 17 first-half minutes in the first exhibition game of the season for the new-look 76ers.

In addition, young 76ers star VJ Edgecombe spoke about the impact that Brown has as a leader, saying that he's someone that Edgecombe goes to for information, citing his knowledge.

The Celtics will certainly miss Brown's basketball ability, where he averaged 28.7 ppg last season en route to a 56-26 record, but they will also miss his leadership skills, where he was praised for how he led the team in the absence of an injured Jayson Tatum and a traded Jrue Holliday and Kristaps Porzingis.

The two teams will play each other six times in total, including two preseason games.

1) The first matchup will come on Saturday night in the preseason (Oct. 10) at 8:00 p.m. ET in Boston.

2) The second will come on Oct. 16 in Philadelphia at 7 p.m. ET.

3) The first regular season contest will come on Nov. 15 in Philadelphia at 8:00 p.m. ET.

4) The next regular season game will wait until Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Boston. That will be Brown's first game back in the regular season since the trade.

5) They'll meet again in Philadelphia on Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

6) They'll play in Boston again on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Of course, the two teams could also meet in the playoffs like they did a season ago. The 76ers beat the Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference first round, despite the Celtics being the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.

The C's will open up the preseason on Thursday night on the round at the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are coming off a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They were defeated by the New York Knicks, who won the NBA title.
