It will be several months before fans get to see what the Boston Celtics look like without recently-traded All-Star wing Jaylen Brown.

Brown was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason for Paul George and draft picks after a decade-long tenure with Boston, which began when he was selected third overall in the 2016 NBA draft.

The move was heavily criticized by several analysts both due to the return and the fact that Philadelphia eliminated the Celtics from the playoffs, overcoming a 3-1 series deficit.

Following Brown being dealt, there's been a lot of discussion among analytical and insider circles on how the league views Brown in terms of his impact on Boston.

Brown kept the Celtics in contention for the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the majority of the season while franchise star Jayson Tatum was recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. Brown finished sixth in MVP voting, but there's still several executives that aren't high on the five-time All-Star as one of the top players in the NBA.

In a story written by Jay King and Sam Amick for the Athletic, an anonymous NBA general manager offered his opinion that Brown is not a top 50 player in the Association.

Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd joined the crowd of people who believes the Celtics will be better without Brown on the roster.

In a recent episode of his show, "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," the host pointed out Boston's winning percentage over the years without Brown on the court.

"Here we are with Jaylen Brown," Cowherd said on the show. "(NFL edge rusher Micah Parsons) was a flawed star (before being traded), (Luka Doncic) was a great but flawed star. ... Jaylen Brown is great but a totally flawed star. He's not a top 20 player analytically and that's what drives the bus for the Celtics in the lead. Since he has arrived, the Celtics have a higher winning percentage when he doesn't play. ... Micah, Luka and Jaylen Brown, I will again be on an island. I think the Celtics will be better next year."

A lot of the pushback on Brown's individual impact has to do with advanced analytical stats.

On the surface, Brown will likely be a major impact player for the 76ers. He is coming off a career-best season where he averaged 28.6 points across 71 games (all starts) on 47.7% shooting (34.7% from 3-point range). He also averaged 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and one steal per game.

For the Celtics, they'll have a core that includes Tatum, Paul George, Mitchell Robinson, Payton Pritchard and Derrick White.
