NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony voices out against Los Angeles Clippers after Chris Paul decision

The NBA world has been turned upside down since the Los Angeles Clippers made the shocking decision to cut ties with legendary point guard and franchise great Chris Paul. After taking to his Instagram story to reveal that he was being sent home ahead of the team's road contest against the Atlanta Hawks, reports came out regarding why a divorce was made.

Reports from ESPN's Shams Charania and NBA insider Chris Haynes indicated that there was a feud between Paul and head coach Tyronn Lue, with the two not being on speaking terms for an extended period of time. Regardless, a lot of support has come to back up Paul, including long-time friend and Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony.

Carmelo Anthony Bashes Clippers

Taking to his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn, Anthony made it known where he stands, siding with his friend to no surprise.

"The CP situation, it's a f***** up situation. Imagine CP right now, he's embarrassed that my own organization that I brought back to relevance is s******* on me. We ain't talkin' about what I'm doing right now on a what have you done for me lately. You f***** with my legacy now. This is the f***** up side of the sport," Anthony said.

From the player's perspective, it's hard not to see this as a messed-up situation. When you factor in that Paul is arguably the greatest Clippers player of all time and opted to return to LA instead of going to the Phoenix Suns or other destinations, that's when the situation looks worse for the Clippers.

"But you still don't do that. You should treat that with a level of respect because now you playin' with somebody's legacy. It ain't about wins and losses right now, I should have enough respect for you and your legacy not to let you go out like this," he added.

With the Clippers sitting at 6-18 on the season and 1-2 since the removal of Paul from the team, they'll have to hope that his exit from the locker room can start turning things around for them. Otherwise, cutting ties with a franchise legend and not seeing results change on the court makes it worse for the Clippers.

For fans of Paul, it doesn't seem like the guard is ready to hang it up, as he revealed in a statement to Haynes that he's staying ready and doesn't know what's next for him. He hasn't officially been released by the team yet, so there's a reality he could be dealt in a trade.
