This offseason, the Los Angeles Clippers decided to bring back free agent guard Jordan Miller on a five-year, $15.3 million deal. Miller gave the Clippers 10 points per game off the bench on an efficient 53 percent shooting from the field. 

With Miller signing this deal, he becomes the longest-tenured active Clipper on the roster going into next season. Miller was drafted by Los Angeles in 2023 with the 48th pick in the draft. 

Los Angeles has made several moves since the beginning of the 2025-2026 season. The Clippers went into last season as the oldest team in the NBA, but after trading center Ivica Zubac and guard James Harden away midseason, the Clippers got back younger players and more draft capital. 

Earlier this offseason, the Clippers also traded away Kawhi Leonard, who is coming off a strong season that earned him All-NBA Second Team honors. Leonard was traded away to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for RJ Barrett, Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and multiple draft picks. 

In the draft, the Clippers drafted guard Keaton Wagler out of Illinois with the fifth overall pick. The pick was given to them in the trade that sent Ivica Zubac to the Indiana Pacers. The Clippers lucked out in the lottery, and they will look to develop Wagler into a premier guard in the future. 

For several seasons, the consistent roster turnover has been a theme for the Los Angeles Clippers. In 2019, when they acquired Kawhi Leonard, they also made a big trade as they acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder. 

They acquired James Harden to be a third option next to Kawhi and George as well. Los Angeles also signed players like Russel Westbrook and Bradley Beal over the years to give the Clippers a boost, but after a missed postseason appearance in 2026, the team has made moves to step back and rebuild. 

The Clippers will have a very different-looking roster again in 2026, and it could impact them early in the season. Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, and Gradey Dick are all players who have some continuity after playing together in Toronto, but it could be difficult to get used to playing with the rest of the roster. 

There is also a possibility that the team builds chemistry as the season progresses, and they could make a run for a playoff spot. Roster turnover isn't anything new for this franchise, and after letting go of Kawhi, the Clippers could be looking to build a young core for the future.
