The Los Angeles Clippers might just be turning their season around, as wild as it is. Entering December, they were one of the worst teams in the NBA with a 5-15 record. It didn't get much better to start the month, going 1-6 through their first seven games. However, it has started to turn around as of late.

Securing a big win over the Lakers at home, the Clippers went on to win two more games, defeating the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers. Setting themselves up for a home contest against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons, the Clippers continued to keep up the momentum.

Clippers Roll Through Pistons

The Clippers took the lead in the first quarter and didn't look back, defeating the Pistons and securing their fourth-straight win as they build up momentum heading into the next calendar year. James Harden had a strong performance with 28 points and seven assists, but it was the Kawhi Leonard show at the Intuit Dome.

Leonard logged his career-high with 55 points, dismantling the Pistons' Top 10 defense by scoring from all across the floor. After the game, Harden was asked about his star teammate's career night.

"It took him long enough," Harden joked.

A player who has mainly been known for his defense throughout his career, Leonard dug deep into his offensive bag on Sunday night, even though he may no longer be in his offensive prime.

"It was a beautiful thing to see. How efficient it was. How effortless it was. It was just so smooth. He got to wherever spot he wanted to. Once he gets to that spot, it's not even about the defender; it's about him making the shot, which most of the time, he makes. Overly happy for him, just because behind the scenes you watch somebody and how hard they work," Harden said.

Leonard converted 5-of-10 shots from beyond the arc, as well as going 16-of-17 from the free throw line, unfortunately putting an end to his made free throw streak. And while it was his offensive game that stood out, he logged five steals and three blocks, a defensive performance that would deserves as much attention as the 55 points.

"For him, what he had to battle through to just to go out there and look like himself, was a beautiful thing to see," he added.

Through injuries and an ongoing investigation into the Clippers and Leonard, it hasn't been an ideal season for the two-time Finals MVP. However, if he and the Clippers can continue to stack wins, they'll actually be in the play-in mix sooner rather than later.
