The Los Angeles Clippers picked up a 119-105 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, getting help from their bench.

Though Kawhi Leonard scored 32 and James Harden added 22, it was the contributions of Yanic Konan Niederhauser and Jordan Miller that stood out.

Niederhauser had 16 points on 7-7 shooting, and Miller picked up his first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes.

Asked about his first career double-double after the game, Miller said, “I didn’t even know I was close to ten until probably like eight. Zu [Ivica Zubac] said something to me on the bench, so, you know, I made a point of emphasis to get two more."

Impacting The Game

Miller noted in his post-game interview that he was just looking to impact the game anyway he could and that the ball gravitated towards him.

"We got great scorers, you know I’m saying, so things you can control is how many rebounds you get, so that’s all I was trying to do," he said.

On top of getting his first career double-double, Miller was a +21 for the game, the second-best number on the team between Nic Batum, who was +26. Miller went 5-10 from the field and had five assists and two steals as well.

Kawhi Leonard offered praise for Miller after the game, saying he's putting together a good season, is playing confidently, shooting the ball, playing good defense, and getting to the paint.

Jordan Miller Journey

Miller isn't necessarily a young player on the Clippers despite not being a rotation stalwart for the team. He's 26 years old and in his third season with Los Angeles. He was selected in the second round, 48th overall, by the Clippers in 2023.

He started his college career at George Mason and was named third-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference as a junior. He transferred to Miami the following year, where he played two seasons, utilizing his extra year of eligibility due to the COVID season. He was named Second-team All-ACC in his final year in college.

Prior to this year, Miller appeared in just 45 games for the Clippers, averaging 10 minutes and putting up 3.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

This season, he's averaging 15.9 minutes per contest and putting up 6.9 points with 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He scored a career high of 22 points against the Denver Nuggets on November 12.

He's become a central rotation piece in the last six games, averaging 25 minutes a night as the Clippers have gone 5-1.
