LA Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard put on a show against the Houston Rockets, and had a bold message after winning.

It just takes two games to call it a win streak, and the Los Angeles Clippers have finally earned the right to say that they're on a win streak again for the first time since October.

These back-to-back wins haven't come against any slouches either, but rather two of the best teams in the Western Conference in the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. The Rockets were the Clippers' most recent victory after a dominant 128-108 win Tuesday night that was highlighted by a 41-point performance by Kawhi Leonard and 29 points by James Harden.

The Clippers have finally looked like the team they've been capable of being. Despite their record, most of the Clippers' losses weren't any kind of blowout, but rather games where the Clippers looked strong early on, before something would go wrong and the game would slip out of their reach.

Playing Better Than Their Record

Many of the Clippers have long said the team has been playing better than their record, and now they're showing it.

"The certain games we've been playing. I know there's not no right way to lose a game, but I feel like some of those games we were in it, or maybe leading at halftime or at the end of the third quarter and we kind of just let go of the rope... We've got a veteran group, so we're going to go out there and compete regardless," Kawhi Leonard said to the media.

The veteran status of the lineup that Leonard praised has been the subject of some doubt and criticism this season. The Clippers have one of the older lineups in the league with veterans like Leonard, Harden and Brook Lopez on the team and as injuries started to pile up for the Clippers, their age was naturally looked at as a factor.

Veteran Players' Mental Strength

But, the mental resilience that comes with so much experience in the league for some many of those players could be exactly what's needed in a season like the Clippers have been having. A younger team staring down Los Angeles' record could have been demoralized, but the veteran Clippers have been able to stay the course until things get better.

It's still just two wins, and while Leonard is happy that they've got them, he knows there's still more work to be done.

"I feel good that we won two in a row. It does feel good, but there's really no holidays in the league. We on the road after on Christmas."
