Ty Lue credited the Los Angeles Clippers' young players for their massive win over the Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors entered Friday night's contest against the Los Angeles Clippers eyeing the third seed in the Eastern Conference, with the New York Knicks struggling and the Raptors having a chance to jump higher. However, the Clippers might just be the hottest team in the NBA, and weren't going to let anything come easy.

During the second and third quarters, the Raptors took double-digit leads, with the Clippers bringing it close the whole time. With Toronto entering the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead, the Clippers continued to fight, and pulled out one of their most impressive wins over their recent stretch.

Clippers Claw Back In Massive Win

Forcing overtime with a 31-20 fourth quarter, the Clippers sealed the deal in the final period for a 121-117 win, and moved into the 10th seed in the Western Conference as a result. After their season looked dead in the water, the Clippers now find themselves with their playoff hopes alive and well.

James Harden was instrumental for the Clippers, scoring 31 points and dishing out 10 assists, scoring eight of his points in overtime. However, it was the play of the young players on the Clippers that put them over the edge, a group that wasn't expected to contribute much at all this season.

After the game, head coach Ty Lue made sure to credit the young players for their contributions in helping them flip the game in LA's favor.

"I thought our young guys were great. Jordan Miller was great off the bench. Cam [Christie] was really good off the bench as well. They were able to score the basketball, attack closeouts, get into the paint. When James got a chance to get some rest, I thought our young guys really held it down," Lue said.

Lue also credited TyTy Washington, who was a +2 in his 10 minutes of action, scoring three points and adding two assists.

But as mentioned by Lue, the stars for the Clippers were Jordan Miller and Cam Christie off the bench. Miller played 46 minutes for LA, scoring 19 points, dishing out six assists, and adding four steals with a team-high +20.

As for Christie, he had 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, adding five rebounds as well. Second-round picks from consecutive drafts by the Clippers, injuries have opened the door for both players to get action, and they are capitalizing on it.

With Miller set to turn 26 later this month and Christie still 20, both players are young due to their lack of experience. It was just Christie's second time scoring double-digits this season, while Miller has been on a tear over the last five games, averaging 14.8 points per game.

If both players can remain consistent, the Clippers will have some flexibility going forward with cap space and roster moves.
