Several stars from both teams appear on the Los Angeles Clippers' injury report vs the Memphis Grizzlies
After the day off for Thanksgiving in the NBA, teams return to action on Friday with more action in the NBA Cup Group Play, as standings will be finalized after Friday's slate. Among the teams playing are the Los Angeles Clippers, who still remain alive in the race for the NBA Cup Elimination stage.
However, it's hard for the Clippers to focus on the NBA Cup when all they should be worrying about is winning games. Entering Friday with a 5-13 record and just half a game up on the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks, they'll get an opportunity to face a depleted Memphis Grizzlies team on Friday as both teams are far from full strength.
Clippers Injury Report
On the Clippers' injury report, there remain a lot of familiar faces, with Bradley Beal (hip), Bogdan Bogdanovic (hip), Derrick Jones Jr. (knee), and Jordan Miller (hamstring) all listed as OUT for Los Angeles in their first game home since their seven-game road trip.
For Beal, he's the lone player on the injury report whose season has come to an end, after appearing in just six games for the Clippers. Posting averages of 8.2 points and 1.7 assists on 37.5% shooting from the field in those contests, it's hard to say the former All-Star was ever healthy in his time this season.
Luckily, Beal has a player option for next season at $5.6 million, and given he wasn't able to prove much at all this year, a return to the Clippers seems more than likely.
As for the rest of the players listed, Jones Jr. is amid a multi-week absence after spraining his right MCL, as the Clippers are limited with their forward depth without one of their starters. Both Bogdanovic and Miller though appear to be on track to return in the near future.
Grizzlies Injury Report
Looking over at the Grizzlies, they have a long list of players sidelined, which includes Brandon Clarke (knee), Ty Jerome (calf), Ja Morant (calf), Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe), and Javon Small (toe).
Ever since the Grizzlies decided to fire head coach Taylor Jenkins near the end of the 2024-25 season, everything has gone downhill for Memphis. In addition to their poor 7-12 record and drama around the team, Desmond Bane is thriving with the Orlando Magic, averaging 20.7 points and 5.0 assists in his last six games.
Both teams could use this win to gain some momentum, but only one can walk away with it. Tip-off at the Intuit Dome is set for 10:00 p.m. EST.
