The Los Angeles Clippers draft picks have been revealed.
The NBA Draft Lottery was held on Sunday afternoon and the results are in.
The Washington Wizards got the first overall pick in the lottery. They were followed by the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bulls.
For the Los Angeles Clippers, they entered the draft lottery with no chance at a top four pick, but a small chance at picking either fifth or sixth. They didn't have their own first-round pick due to a trade made with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019 when they sent Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and multiple first-round picks to the Thunder in exchange for Paul George. That pick was 12th before the lottery.
The Clippers could only get the fifth or sixth pick courtesy of the Indiana Pacers.
The Clippers Are Picking At....
Number five.
Luck was on the side of the Clippers as they walked away with the fifth overall pick thanks to the Ivica Zubac trade.
On February 5, the Clippers traded Ivica Zubac and Kobe Brown in exchange for Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, two first-round picks, and a second-round pick.
One of the first round picks was a 2026 protected pick from the Pacers. The pick was protected 1-4 and 10-30, which means if it fell between 5-9, it would convey to the Clippers.
There was a 52.1% chance the pick ended up in the top four, meaning it would have remained with Indiana.
That left a 47.9% chance it would fall to five or six, giving it to the Clippers. There was a 27.8% chance the pick landed at five and a 20.1% chance it landed at six.
The 27.8% chance was all the Clippers needed.
Other Draft Picks
Along with the fifth overall pick, the Clippers do have two picks in the second round at numbers 36 and 52 overall.
The 36th overall pick comes courtesy of the Memphis Grizzlies and the 52nd pick is via the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the James Harden for Darius Garland swap that took place at the NBA trade deadline.
The Clippers original 2026 first round pick remained at number 12 and stays with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
