Despite being a dismal team with a 6-19 record, the LA Clippers somehow can't stay out of headlines. Whether it's due to a random postgame statement, Chris Paul's dismissal, or Kawhi Leonard's Aspiration controversy, the Clippers keep making unfortunate headlines.
That list only added this weekend, as LA unexpectedly cancelled practice on Saturday and only chose to do a film session amid their struggles.

"Nico had to go home sick," Clippers head coach Ty Lue said at practice. "A couple of guys weren't going to be able to practice today. I thought our film session was really good. I thought our guys really understood what we were looking for, what we were talking about."
Lue did add that the team was hoping to get more players back, so the team ran a more proper practice on Sunday afternoon before their game on Monday.
"Tomorrow, we'll be able to go live, hopefully get some more bodies back," Lue added. "We got two of our guys gone in San Diego, Nico is sick, and a couple of others weren't going to be able to practice today."
One big area of concern in Lue's statement was that he mentioned a few players couldn't practice, but didn't mention who.
“I can’t say. I don’t think I can say that," Lue said with a smile.
Lue's words immediately went viral online, with many speculating that some kind of trade was in the works. Fans thought maybe that Kawhi Leonard or James Harden may have been withheld from practice so that their trade value wouldn't be diminished by a potential injury.
While there is a chance of that being true, especially with an incredibly underachieving team like the Clippers, there's also a much higher chance that players are just banged up.
The Clippers have been playing their starters 40 minutes a game for numerous nights because of how thin their bench is. Most recently against the Houston Rockets, Kawhi Leonard played 41 minutes, James Harden played 40 minutes, and Ivica Zubac played 35 minutes.
The bigger cause for concern is the fact that LA broke their promise of conserving James Harden and Ivica Zubac, and it's still resulting in nonstop losses.
