The Los Angeles Clippers took down the Golden State Warriors 114-101 on Monday and the victory featured the debut of the latest Clipper to join the squad, Darius Garland.
When the Clippers acquired Garland at the deadline from the Cleveland Cavaliers, they did so knowing that Garland wouldn't be able to make his debut right away due to various toe injuries, but all of that changed on Monday when garland was able to step on the court for the first time in a Los Angeles uniform.
Garland made an immediate impact on the floor. In 23 minutes, Garland scored 12 points while shooting 4-9 from the field and adding two rebounds, two assists and a steal.

The intangibles in his game have been what stands out the most to Clippers head coach Ty Lue, who sung the praises of the newest Clipper after the win.
"It's great. A guy can push the pace, can run pick-and-roll, can get to where he wants to get to on the floor, can run a lot of different options where he can come off pin-downs, he can come off pick-the-picker actions, so we can just use him a lot of different ways," Lue said to the media.
The big motivation behind acquiring garland for the Clippers wasn't just offloading James Harden's salary, but by acquiring Garland they've added a young guard who can provide dynamic playmaking and stretch out the effectiveness of the rest of the team.
Garland's presence represents an overall shift toward a younger, more energetic roster that features players like Jordan Miller and Kobe Sanders.
The Clippers' rebuild will be spearheaded by Garland and the supporting cast summoned from the G-League, and it means a brighter future for the Clippers and the changing of the guard to a newer, younger era for Clippers basketball. The team now has the youth off the bench to go along with it.
Since he's still so fresh off of an injury and still finding his footing with his new team, Garland may be having a slower start, but wth the production that he's already bringing to the floor, great things seem to be in store for the future of the franchise.
It may just be one game in for Garland, but it's just a taste of what he can be for Los Angeles and where the Clippers can go from here on out. After losing James Harden, the Clippers have a new point guard of the future, but the biggest question will always be his health and availability.
