Now is the time for the Los Angeles Clippers to make a flurry of moves and truly set themselves up for the future. 

They've already made absurd progress on their rebuild in just a season of taking it seriously and it's clear by the way that they traded away both James Harden and Ivica Zubac at the deadline that they're willing to turn the page on their nearly decade-long strategy of loading the team with superstars to pursue a championship.

Now, Los Angeles has done the work to set themselves up for the future with a number of talented young players already on their roster and several valuable draft picks at their disposal. 

This offseason will be the Clippers' biggest chance to fully commit to what they've already started and make a handful of impactful moves now that will make them a serious threat in just a few seasons' time.

The most important move that the Clippers can make and to show that they're fully committed to their rebuild is to deal away the last superstar on their roster, Kawhi Leonard. 

Leonard is at the peak of his trade value right now after one of the best seasons of his career and other than Giannis Antetokounmpo, Leonard stands out as the premier trade target in the league, especially to any team that may lose out on the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. 

The team that stands out the most as a trade partner would be the Golden State Warriors, who hold the 11th-overall pick and look to be in a desperate position to acquire an additional superstar. 

That 11th-overall pick needs to be the top target for the Clippers and anyone else they could get in the trade, such as Brandin Podziemski, Jimmy Butler or even more first or second picks, would be added value that the Clippers definitely could negotiate for. 

Speaking of the draft, the Clippers are in a great position by having the fifth-overall pick, which they received from the Indiana Pacers as part of them trading away Zubac. 

Using that pick to acquire a playmaking guard would be the best way to move in a positive new direction. With Darius Garland on the roster, adding another guard to thee back court, especially one that could create even more opportunities for Garland, would be a huge plus. 

Going back to that 11th-overall pick that the Clippers could get from the Warriors, they would need to use that pick to further diversify the team. 

While they need to target a guard at the five spot, drafting at 11th-overall should lead the Clippers towards picking up a big man, preferable a pure center. They sacrificed their center spot by trading away Zubac and they need to fill that void using the draft.

The name that's been most commonly associated with both the Clippers and the 11th-overall range is Aday Mara out of Michigan. The size that Mara would bring to the Clippers would be a massive get and the young Spanish center would be another piece that the Clippers could cement as a cornerstone of their team.

Those three major moves would represent a massive leap for the Clippers and effectively set them up for the next decade.

Beyond that, the only other moves they would need to make would be akin to housekeeping while they made sure to retain the pieces from their existing roster. 

They have two young players in Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller that both made massive leaps forward this season who are both up for club options this offseason, which the Clippers should exercise.

Another young player, Bennedict Mathurin, is a restricted free agent this offseason and should be another piece that the Clippers should make sure they bring back.

With all of these moves in mind, the Clippers will have done everything they need to do to not only secure a competitive present, but more importantly, set them up for success in the future.
