On Monday night vs. the Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards pulled off what many believe is not only the best dunk this season, but one of the best ever:
Going up and over John Collins, Edwards threw down an incredible dunk, which still has the NBA world buzzing. During the latest episode of Gil's Arena, former NBA star and Memphis Grizzlies guard Gilbert Arenas reacted to Edwards' dunk, and how he would have handled it if he were in Collins' position.
"The shame is going out of the game," Arenas said when speaking on getting dunked on. "You cross me over, I fall and all of that, coach you better not sub me. You better not call a timeout. Hurry up, get the ball out of bounds, and go to try to score and give him a get back... That's what I'm trying to get. If you dunk on me, now coach calls timeout, sub me out, now I'm sitting on the bench, they done replayed it... Nah, let me get my get back. If I make that, I'm shooting another one. I make that, heat check."
There is no real blueprint for how to handle getting dunked on like this, but Arenas believes a player needs to stay in the game and try to respond with something on the other end.
