Olivier-Maxence Prosper dropped 18 points in a 96-88 Grizzlies loss to the Mavericks, saying Memphis needs better defensive communication.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper reflected on his Summer League experience and development following the Dallas Mavericks' July 13 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in Las Vegas. Memphis lost to Dallas 96-88 in their second game of the Las Vegas Summer League. Cameron Boozer led the team in scoring with 21 points, with Prosper (18 points) and Cedrick Coward (17 points) contributing double-digit scoring.
After the game, Prosper spoke to Grind City's Jessica Benson about his Summer League experience.
"Today was definitely a tough one... We can learn a lot from it," he said. "Defensively, I feel that we could be better with communication and being on the same page," he added.
While Prosper did not play in Memphis' next game, the Grizzlies answered his call the following night, defeating the Golden State Warriors 106-85 and leading by as many as 27. Javon Small led with 26 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Brendan Hausen also scored 20. A total of seven players scored in double figures.

Prosper joined the Memphis Grizzlies in September 2025 after he was waived by the Mavericks. The Grizzlies picked up his $2.5 million option for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
In Dallas, the Memphis forward averaged a total of 6.9 points per game and 4.4 rebounds while playing less than 12 minutes per game. The Grizzlies are hoping to see if he can provide the current roster with three point shooting and defense on the wing.
Last season in Memphis, Prosper averaged 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and one assist while shooting 40.5% from three. This season's team will be rebuilding behind Boozer, who has been consistent throughout the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas Summer League.
While Prosper isn't newly drafted, he provides depth to this team and could fit into the franchise's plans. During the NBA Draft, Memphis also drafted Karim López at No. 21 and Richie Saunders at No. 32. On June 24, the organization acquired Isaiah Stewart from the Detroit Pistons.
Lòpez has yet to play in Summer League due to a hamstring strain. However, he is listed as day-to-day in the Las Vegas Aces Summer League. Saunders will be out indefinitely while rehabbing an ACL injury.
Rebuilding
Memphis drafted Boozer No.3 overall, Karim López No. 21, and Richie Saunders at No. 32. On June 24, the organization acquired Isaiah Stewart from the Detroit Pistons.
In addition to acquiring Stewart, the team signed Carson Cooper to a two-way contract and recently landed AJ Johnson in a trade.
The Grizzlies will be a young team, but the front office will decide how to carve the direction of the roster.
With Morant in Portland, Boozer will be expected to help lead this franchise in its newest era. Some have labeled him as the most pro-ready player from the draft. The Summer League team has one more game, facing the Atlanta Hawks on July 16 at 7 p.m. CT on Amazon Prime.
