Bleacher Report named Ty Jerome an overlooked NBA trade candidate, and the Memphis Grizzlies could have a valuable asset if he stays healthy.
As a rebuilding team, the Memphis Grizzlies could trade any of their veterans this year. Bleacher Report just named guard Ty Jerome as one of five NBA trade candidates "nobody is talking about."
They must not read Grizzlies Roundtable.
Jokes aside, you won't find many mentions of Jerome outside of Grizzlies-specific websites. He's one of the most underrated players in the NBA, so naturally, he's one of the most underrated trade candidates.
But don't be surprised if the Grizzlies get a haul in exchange for him this year.
Grizzlies Should Be Shopping Ty Jerome
If you do read Roundtable, you're probably familiar with Jerome's 2025-26 season. To refresh your memory, the seven-year pro averaged 19.7 points and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 42.0% from 3-point range.
Unfortunately, those numbers came in just 15 games before Jerome got injured.
That's the trick with Jerome. The Grizzlies need him to stay healthy. Another major injury would tank his trade value. It would solidify the perception that Jerome is a player with significant durability issues.
If he can shake that perception? The Grizzlies should get a first-round pick for him if he approximates last year's level of production.
Jerome is also owed just $9.2 million this season in the second year of a three-year, $27.7 million contract. A 6-foot-5 guard who can play with or without the ball is a useful commodity in the NBA.
It almost makes you wonder:

Grizzlies Should Let The Season Play Out
Likely, the answer is no.
The most important player on this roster is Cameron Boozer. He'll be a rookie in 2026-27. The Grizzlies should be focused on doing whatever they can to optimize his future.
That includes flipping veterans for picks.
But there are exceptions to every rule.
Suppose the Grizzlies surprise people. Say they're trending toward the play-in tournament as the trade deadline approaches. Finally, assume that Jerome has been a large part of their success.
The organization could decide that getting Boozer early exposure to high-stakes basketball outweighs adding more draft capital. That would be defensible. So, there's a world where they keep Jerome past the trade deadline.
That said, nothing is as valuable to a rebuilding club as future first-round draft capital. If the Grizzlies can get an unprotected first for Jerome, it's more likely to make sense to grab that pick at the expense of short-term success.
That could be a huge boon to the franchise.
Even if nobody's talking about it right now.
