Grizzlies Reserves Outscore Jazz Bench 48-40

Jerami Grant scored 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting off the bench and finished with a team-high plus-12 in 23:30. Eight of his points came in the second quarter, when he went 3-of-3 with two 3-pointers.

Through three quarters, the reserves had 45 of Memphis' 89 points.
Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said the bench drove the run that built the first-half lead.
"I felt that things in the third and the fourth, we had good control of the game," Iisalo said. "I thought our guys played really well, especially the guys off the bench. The amount of energy they brought and pace. On the second night of a back-to-back, we saw two teams that were really struggling to generate something."
"It came down to big plays down the stretch," Iisalo continued, "but very, very satisfied with our — again, the word I keep using is poise — in the fourth quarter, of just staying with the program, getting through the situations, working the margins, and then coming up with the crucial defensive stops at the right time."
Memphis won 123-112 at the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
Utah Cuts 16-Point Deficit to One
Utah got within 58-57 early in the third quarter on a George step-back jumper and free throw. Memphis outscored the Jazz 31-19 over the rest of the period.

The Jazz won the fourth quarter 29-21. They had an 18-2 edge in paint points in the period, and Bamba scored 8 of his 14 on three dunks and a putback layup.
Darryn Peterson's 26-foot pull-up with 5:03 left made it 100-98. A George floater and free throw at 3:37 cut it to 102-101.
Jerome hit a 16-foot floater with 2:44 left and a 16-foot pull-up off a Zach Edey pass at 2:15. Bamba's dunk off a Bailey pass made it 106-105 with 1:01 remaining.
Peterson fouled Wells with 41 seconds left, and Wells made both free throws. On Utah's next trip, George missed a 13-foot pull-up, and Peterson missed an 11-footer after grabbing the rebound.
Boozer secured that miss. Josh Green fouled Jerome with 11.6 seconds left, and Jerome made both.
Memphis went 6-of-18 from the field in the fourth quarter and 6-of-6 at the line. It led for the final 39:56 in front of 17,867, Utah's 377th consecutive sellout.
Golden State led the Grizzlies by 12 with 3:47 left on Friday before a 17-0 Memphis run at Chase Center.
Jerome said each of the four wins has looked a little different.
"It's huge, especially against teams in the Western Conference, all Western Conference teams that we're playing right now," Jerome said in a postgame interview with Grind City Media, the Grizzlies' in-house outlet. "And it's huge. We've been resilient. We've been in dogfights. We've been in some clutch-time games. And we've stayed together on the road in the loud arenas. We've kept our poise. We've done a good job."
Jazz Lose Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr.
Lauri Markkanen left with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter after his right wrist got caught between Jaren Jackson Jr. and Boozer on the perimeter.
Jackson, who spent eight seasons with Memphis before the Grizzlies traded him to Utah in February, was hurt in the second quarter. Neither returned.
The AP reported Tuesday that Jackson tore the MCL in his right knee and will miss at least six weeks. Markkanen sprained his right wrist and is listed as day-to-day.
Memphis plays at Portland on Thursday, with tip-off at 9 p.m. CT. The Grizzlies return to FedExForum to host Sacramento on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.
