Cameron Boozer scored a career-high 27 points as Memphis routed Sacramento 136-105 and matched the best start in franchise history at 6-0.
Cameron Boozer scored a career-high 27 points Saturday night, and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Sacramento Kings 136-105 at FedExForum to stay the NBA's only unbeaten team.
At 6-0, Memphis has matched the 2014-15 Grizzlies for the best start in franchise history. Sacramento fell to 0-6.
Boozer, the third overall pick in June, shot 8-of-14 from the field, 3-of-7 from 3-point range, and 8-of-8 at the free-throw line. He added 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 25:59. His previous high was 25 points on Oct. 23 at Golden State, and two nights before Saturday he recorded his first triple-double in a 124-103 win at Portland.
All 7 of his turnovers came before halftime. In the third quarter, he had 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting and went 8-of-8 at the line.
Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Quinten Post did not play. The Grizzlies listed Jerome with upper back soreness, Pippen with low back soreness, and Post with a right ankle sprain. Cam Spencer started at point guard and had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 13 assists without a turnover.
Boozer said he was playing a little too fast early and called the second half great.
"The depth is very important," Boozer said. "We had three guys not play tonight that are in the rotation, and the other guys stepped up, made winning plays, whatever it might have been. The biggest thing is just win your minutes, and I think everyone tonight did that. And I'm going to keep it rolling."
Grizzlies Bench Outscores Kings Reserves 81-20
The Memphis bench scored 81 points. Sacramento's reserves scored 20.
Isaiah Stewart had 24 of them in 20:33. He made 8 of his 9 shots, 2 of his 3 attempts from deep, and all 6 of his free throws, and every one of his points came in the first three quarters. He had scored 18 in Portland.
For Stewart, it is always next guy up, and whoever comes in knows how to run the coach's system.
"It's just the way we play," Stewart said. "We practice this. Coach put great confidence in all of us that whoever is the open man and whoever the ball find at the right time, he got confidence in that person taking the shot. That's pretty much it. I'm just confident. I've got my guys and the coaches that's backing me as well."
GG Jackson scored 21 on 7-of-10 shooting and went 5-of-5 from 3-point range. Four of those 3-pointers came in the second quarter, two of them in its first 43 seconds.
Jerami Grant scored 14. Javon Small had 7 points and 5 assists in 19:37, and Kris Murray scored 2 points and finished plus-26 in 21:09.
Rookies Karim López and Carson Cooper each scored for the first time in the NBA in the last three minutes.

Jackson's driving dunk with 10:05 remaining made it 114-80, the biggest lead of the night.
For the game, Memphis shot 55.3% from the field and 19-of-38 from 3-point range. The Grizzlies had 30 assists on 47 baskets. They outscored the Kings 54-36 in the paint and 25-13 in fast-break points.
