Restricted free agent Quinten Post is signing a three-year, $30 million offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources told Grizzlies Roundtable. The Golden State Warriors have until 11:59 p.m. ET Tuesday to match. The move was first reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.

Post, 26, spent his first two NBA seasons with Golden State after the Warriors took him with the 52nd pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He averaged 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 67 games last season, making 35 starts while Al Horford dealt with injuries, and shot 44.0% from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range.

The Warriors tendered Post a qualifying offer worth over $2.6 million on June 29, giving them the right to match any offer sheet he signs in restricted free agency. The Grizzlies are testing their willingness to match, and Golden State's window opportunity to do so ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

The Grizzlies can clearly benefit from bolstering frontcourt depth. Memphis often played small lineups as they tanked to maximize their odds for the first overall pick before the 2026 NBA Draft. Not only did the league change the rules to deter tanking, but Memphis is also unable to land a top-five pick in the 2027 NBA Draft regardless of the lottery results. Playing to compete is the only way Memphis can benefit next season. The Grizzlies also have the option to play 6-foot-9 Karim López, who was selected 21st overall, at multiple frontcourt positions.

Zach Edey is coming off a season in which he played 11 games before undergoing left ankle surgery. The 7-foot-3 big man is the clear-cut cornerstone of the frontcourt when he's healthy. He showed impressive flashes of potential, averaging 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 25.8 minutes per game last season, shooting 63.3% from the floor. Post's arrival would bring another 7-footer to Memphis.

The Grizzlies have already taken measures to improve frontcourt depth before Post signed an offer sheet. After selecting Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick, Memphis agreed to a trade with the Detroit Pistons for Isaiah Stewart during the second round of the NBA Draft. Stewart has established a reputation as an elite defender. However, he is not a proficient shooter. Post would provide a necessary complement to space the floor with his shooting talent.

The Grizzlies have lost numerous frontcourt talents from last year's roster. Brandon Clarke's passing not only took a valuable locker-room personality from Memphis but also his versatile frontcourt skill set. Additionally, the Grizzlies have agreed to trade Santi Aldama to the Dallas Mavericks in what ultimately is a salary dump-style deal.

For Golden State, matching means committing roughly $10 million a year to a backup center on a roster already carrying big money for Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. The Warriors need to sign Draymond Green to a new contract, continue pursuing LeBron James in free agency, and solidify their overall rotation.
