The Memphis Grizzlies have signed guard Lucas Williamson to a 10-day contract as the injury-ravaged franchise fills out its roster late in the 2025-26 season.
The Memphis Grizzlies are adding another body to a battered roster. The team has agreed to a 10-day contract with guard Lucas Williamson, the team announced on Tuesday.
Williamson has spent the majority of this season bouncing between the Memphis Hustle and the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League, where he's put up 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 23.7 minutes across 46 games.
The former Loyola Ramblers wing went undrafted in 2022 and latched on with the Los Angeles Clippers for training camp before getting waived. He did a brief stint with the Edmonton Stingers in Canada that season before finding a more permanent home in the G League. Most of his professional career has been spent with the Hustle, Memphis' affiliate, making him a known commodity within the organization.
The Grizzlies have been patchworking their roster together for weeks now. Jaylen Wells recently became the fifth Memphis player to have a season-ending surgery after going under the knife for a toe injury. He joins Zach Edey (elbow), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (finger), Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe), and Santi Aldama (knee) on an increasingly long list of players whose seasons ended prematurely.
Tyler Burton and DeJon Jarreau were brought back on second 10-day contracts earlier this month, though both deals expire on Wednesday. Forward Adama Bal, who signed a 10-day deal over the weekend, has shown some early promise in his first two games with the team, averaging 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
The 22-year-old French forward went undrafted out of Santa Clara in 2025 and spent the bulk of this season with the Westchester Knicks in the G League.
None of it changes where Memphis stands in the bigger picture. The Grizzlies are 11 games behind the Golden State Warriors for the final Play-In Tournament spot with only eight games left, and their postseason hopes are officially gone.
At this point, the front office is using the remaining games to get a look at fringe prospects and sort out which pieces might be worth keeping around going forward.
Williamson gets that opportunity now. Whether he takes advantage of it remains to be seen.
