We may have seen the last of Ja Morant in a Memphis Grizzlies uniform.

The Memphis Grizzlies conducted their 2025-26 exit interviews on Monday and All-Star point guard Ja Morant didn't speak.

It's unknown why Morant didn't talk to reporters.

We may have seen the last of Morant in a Grizzlies uniform.

Morant will make $42.1 million next season and $44 million in the 2027-28 season, the final year of his contract. The Grizzlies intend to trade Morant this summer, per Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Morant doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can't control his future.

Memphis traded big man Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz this season and parted ways with Desmond Bane last offseason, sending the guard to the Orlando Magic. The franchise is tearing the roster down and starting from scratch.

Morant appeared in only 20 games this season for the Grizzlies because of injuries. He averaged 19.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 8.1 assists per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field, 23.5% from beyond the arc and 89.7% from the free-throw line.

The 2019-20 Rookie of the Year, Morant has led the Grizzlies to the second round of the playoffs just once. That was back in 2022 with Bane and Jackson Jr.

Morant, 26, has career averages of 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. He was the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State. The point guard has been suspended by the league twice for showing a gun on IG Live.

Memphis entertained offers to trade Morant at this year's trade deadline. Many individuals who cover the NBA believe the Grizzlies will trade Morant this offseason, even if the return isn't strong.

It will be intriguing to see if the Morant era in Memphis ends after this season. Morant has been linked to the Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings in trade rumors.

According to Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, Morant is "unhappy" with the Grizzlies after what happened at the final home game of the season. All signs point toward this partnership ending this summer.

"Signs of a fracture appeared during the Grizzlies' final regular-season home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers last Monday," Robinson wrote. "During the team's 'Fan Appreciation Night,' every active player reportedly gave their jersey to a fan as a gesture of gratitude—except for Morant. 'He just stood there and watched his teammates give away their jerseys,' an unnamed Grizzlies source shared. 'Who does that? The writing is on the wall.'

"However, a separate team source indicated that the friction might be a two-way street. Morant was reportedly notified just one hour before tip-off that he would not be participating in the giveaway, leaving him without a jersey to provide. 'He's unhappy with how he's being treated,' a source close to the situation claimed. 'He feels alienated by the organization.'"
