The Memphis Grizzlies fell to 1-1 in the NBA Summer League after their first loss, but Olivier-Maxence Prosper continued to impress with another strong performance, highlighting his steady development.
The Memphis Grizzlies fell to 1-1 in the Salt Lake City Summer League, but Olivier-Maxence Prosper finished with another strong performance.
Memphis lost to the Utah Jazz 109-100 on July 6 in the team's second game of the Summer League. Cameron Boozer and Darryn Peterson captured the main headlines of the game; Peterson led all players in scoring with 25 points.
On the flip side, Boozer finished the game with 18 points, but one player who could play alongside him is Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
Prosper finished Monday's game with 16 points, three rebounds, and two assists while shooting 37.5 percent from three.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper
Prosper was drafted in the first round with the No.24 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, who sent him to the Dallas Mavericks. He played 92 games with Dallas from 2023 to 2025.
The Mavericks waived Prosper in August 2025 due to injury, and the Grizzlies signed him to a two-way contract in September 2025.
The Grizzlies are looking to extend their roster depth as they parted ways with Ja Morant this summer. As of now, the franchise needs three-point scoring, consistency, and frontcourt presence.
Although Memphis has only played two Summer League games, Prosper has been consistent and has shown glimpses of growth.
Despite losing to the Jazz, the Grizzlies forward finished both games with double-digit scoring. On the opening debut, in the first game of the season, he concluded the game with 17 points and five rebounds while shooting 66 percent from the floor and 100 percent from three-point range.
Last season in Memphis, he averaged 10 points, 3.5 rebounds, and one assist while shooting 54.9 percent from the field. With a new-look roster infused with young talent, Prosper may have more opportunities to shine.
The Future in Memphis
While Prosper isn't newly drafted, he provides depth for this team and could blend in with the franchise's plans. During the NBA Draft, Memphis also drafted Karim LĂłpez at No. 21 and Richie Saunders at No.32. On June 24, the organization acquired Isaiah Stewart from the Detroit Pistons.
Lòpez did not play in the Summer League opener due to a hamstring strain, and he will be out of the rest of the games in Salt Lake City, according to CBS Sports. Saunders will be out indefinitely as he is rehabbing an ACL injury.
The Grizzlies will play their next Summer League game on July 7 against the Atlanta Hawks at 7 p.m. GMT.
