The Memphis Grizzlies have had a very busy draft already, but they can't rest yet.
Although the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft has come and gone, there is still work to be done in the second round, which will unfold on Wednesday.

A mock draft of the second round from Sam Vecenie of The Athletic has the Grizzlies taking an international prospect at No. 32 in German guard Jack Kayil.
Kayil, who is 20 years old, would be an intriguing pick for Memphis. His listed height varies from 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-5. Across all his international action this past season, he averaged 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He did struggle to be efficient, as he shot 37.7 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from deep.
The mock draft from The Athletic provided a solid nugget on Kayil.
"He’s kind of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none right now, but in an NBA where weak links get exploited, he doesn’t have many unfixable flaws," Vecenie wrote.
Second-round picks can be hit or miss, but the Grizzlies are in a position where they may be able to take a player they truly like at No. 32 overall. Since they will be the second team to make a pick in the second round, they can go into the evening with a firm plan on who to select without having to worry about much chaos happening ahead of them.
But the Grizzlies could also explore trade possibilities with the No. 32 pick, so nothing can be ruled out as of now.
In the first round of the draft, Memphis had an exciting night. The team nabbed Duke University's Cameron Boozer at No. 3 overall, a flashy addition for a franchise that could use a team-altering talent.
Then, after some shuffling later in the first round, the Grizzlies landed international prospect Karim López, another exciting piece who could become a long-term piece of the puzzle in Memphis.
The López selection showed that the Grizzlies have a pulse on the international game, so it wouldn't be shocking to see them take a player like Kayil in the second round.
No matter which direction they go on Wednesday, it has been a big week for the organization, which was a much-needed development after Memphis had a disappointing 2025-26 season and failed to make the playoffs.
