Even after finishing his playing career at Duke University, Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer is still collecting honors.
The accolades just keep on coming for Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, who already has a laundry list of honors to show for his 2025-26 season at Duke University, can now add another one, as he's been named the ACC Male Athlete of the Year across all sports.
Boozer's list of honors from his lone season at Duke also includes a variety of Player of the Year awards recognizing him as the top men's hoops player in the country in the 2025-26 campaign.
The 18-year-old did a little bit of everything at Duke. He averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc. That type of production is incredibly rare for a freshman, especially when playing in a conference like the ACC.
He helped Duke win the ACC crown before going on a run in the NCAA Tournament that ended in the Elite Eight.
Now, Boozer's attention is on the NBA. The Grizzlies drafted him last month near the top of the lottery, and he is in line to be their new franchise cornerstone now that the team is entering the post-Ja Morant era.
The early returns have been promising in Summer League action. Boozer appeared in two games for the Grizzlies in Salt Lake City, where he looked the part of a No. 3 overall pick.
In his two appearances, he averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 65.0 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from beyond the arc. Memphis rested him for its final game in Salt Lake City, likely to give him a chance to reset before more Summer League action begins in Las Vegas.
The Grizzlies, who assembled a very talented Summer League roster this year, may have a chance to push for the title in Vegas. Their slate will begin on Friday with a matchup against the Chicago Bulls. Overall, Memphis is guaranteed to play a minimum of five games in Vegas but could end up playing more depending on its success.
Boozer will have to be a main ingredient if the Grizzlies want to take home the Summer League crown, and so far, it seems like he's up to the task. As he continues to rack up honors from his time at Duke, he may soon be a threat to start taking home some accolades at the NBA level.
