The Memphis Grizzlies will likely get Ty Jerome trade offers from NBA contenders.

NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer believe the Memphis Grizzlies will get Ty Jerome trade offers from contenders.

Jerome is off to a stellar start to the season, and even though the Grizzlies are 4-0 (as of this writing), Jerome is better suited to play for a contender at this stage of his career.

The NBA named Jerome the Western Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2026-27 season, the first weekly award of his career, after the Grizzlies guard averaged a league-leading 34.7 points per game through a 3-0 start.

Jerome added 4.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in 31.7 minutes a night. His 12.0 made field goals per game also led the league and he shot 56.3% from the field and 42.9% from 3-point range over a week that ran from Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Oct. 25.

Jerome, 29, opened his eighth NBA season with a career-high 45 points in a 123-103 win over the Utah Jazz at FedExForum on Oct. 21. He went 17-of-25 from the field, 5-of-10 from 3-point range and 6-of-7 at the line, with seven rebounds and six assists.

That broke the franchise record for a season opener. Ja Morant had held it with 44 points in 2020 and Jerome became the fourth player in Grizzlies history to score at least 45 points in a game. His previous career high was 33 points with Cleveland in Philadelphia on Jan. 24, 2025.

Jerome is averaging 29.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game through four games. The Grizzlies have defeated the Jazz (twice), Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings.

Jerome signed with Memphis in July 2025. He appeared in 15 games last season and missed time with a right calf strain.

The Grizzlies traded Morant to Portland over the summer, so Jerome has run the offense as the starting primary handler.

Jerome is making $9,220,050 this season. He has a player option worth $9,659,100 for next season.

It will be intriguing to see if Jerome remains with the Grizzlies all season or gets traded before the 2027 NBA trade deadline, which is on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Jerome has played for the Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Grizzlies. He holds career averages of 9.7 points per game. That average will continue to increase if Jerome keeps scoring the ball at an elite rate.
