The Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly made contract decisions on Olivier-Maxence Prosper and GG Jackson.
Amid a busy day around the NBA when it comes to player and team contract options, the Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly made key decisions on a couple of players.
For one, they are picking up their team option on Olivier-Maxence Prosper, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
They are also picking up their team option on GG Jackson, per Fischer.
The moves allow the Grizzlies to retain a couple of rotation contributors at team-friendly salary numbers.
Prosper, who will turn 24 this summer, just wrapped up his first season with Memphis. It was the best season of his young career, as he posted career-highs across the board. In 53 appearances (24 starts), he averaged 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from long range.
Originally a late first-round pick, he is starting to live up to his potential at the NBA level and could be a huge bargain for the Grizzlies this coming season.
Jackson, meanwhile, also had a big 2025-26 season, something he really needed in order to get his footing back.
As a rookie in the 2023-24 campaign, he was very impressive, averaging 14.6 points per game and landing All-Rookie honors. But in his second season, injury trouble impacted him, and he struggled to produce. Limited to just 29 games, he averaged 7.2 points per contest and was inefficient.
That's why his strong 2025-26 campaign was such a welcome sight. He averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from deep, earning 28 starts in his 55 appearances.
The Grizzlies are filling in their rotation as they enter a new era after selecting Cameron Boozer in the 2026 NBA Draft. While Prosper and Jackson are now both in line to be key contributors this coming season, they could also become long-term pieces for Memphis depending on how the chips fall.
The organization has missed the playoffs in two of the last three seasons and hasn't won a playoff series since 2022. With the Ja Morant era seemingly headed toward an ending in Memphis, all eyes are on the team's young talent as fans look for reasons to be optimistic about the future.
The offseason is still young, and it will be worth monitoring the Grizzlies to see what else they have in store in the coming weeks.
