Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards included his hometown of Atlanta after being asked to name his favorite place to play.

Even though the Minnesota Timberwolves and star guard Anthony Edwards are locked in as long-term partners, it sounds like the 25-year-old still thinks of Atlanta as home.

After being asked to name his favorite place to play, Edwards listed a few spots, and he included his hometown of Atlanta.

"New York, Boston, Philly and Atlanta, at home," he said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel.

The Atlanta Hawks would probably love to lure Edwards back home at some point in his career. For what it's worth, he told Bleacher Report before he was drafted years back that playing for his hometown team would be a "dream come true." As the No. 1 overall pick, he came off the board before the Hawks had a chance to select him.

It's also worth mentioning that at the 2026 All-Star Game, Edwards sparked chatter after he was seemingly overheard telling Hawks star Jalen Johnson, "I can't wait to come home." Edwards later addressed the clip but appeared to choose his words carefully, saying it was "just a conversation." He did add that he's "happy where he's at."

Regardless of speculation, the fact remains that Edwards is under contract with the Wolves through the 2028-29 season. Moreover, Minnesota has shown a willingness to be aggressive in building a team around Edwards, striking a number of big trades over the years.

The most recent one came this offseason when the organization acquired star guard LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets. Some have questioned the move, but the same was true for Minnesota's prior blockbusters during the Edwards era, only for the results to be better than many expected.

The Wolves have had some solid playoff runs with Edwards, reaching the Western Conference Finals twice. But they've yet to get over that hump and were eliminated in the second round last season, so they may feel some pressure building to get further with their franchise cornerstone.

Last season, Edwards averaged 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 39.9 percent from beyond the arc. He was named an All-Star for the fourth time in his NBA career. His resume also features two All-NBA nods that he earned in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

Ultimately, it's no surprise to hear that the former Georgia Bulldogs star likes playing in his native city of Atlanta. But given some of the other indications over the years, his comments about where he likes to play are at least worth filing away.
