The Atlanta Hawks' official injury report for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks is in. Jonathan Kuminga has been ruled OUT with left knee inflammation.
The Hawks are on a four-game winning streak, have crept back up to .500 (31-31), and face the Milwaukee Bucks on national TV Wednesday night. The game is on ESPN @ 9:30 p.m. EST. And Atlanta is on the road playing at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
It's rare that the Hawks get nationally televised games, but it will be interesting to see how they fare against Milwaukee. Atlanta can create serious separations between themselves and the Bucks with a win, and the Hawks are just 2.5 games back of escaping the play-in.
Kuminga being out hinders the Hawks' chances a little bit, but Atlanta has fared well on the road this season.
The sixth-seed in the Eastern Conference is held by Philadelphia, who has been without Joel Embiid, and struggled as of late.
However, every game is important for the Atlanta Hawks, who are still nestled in the 10th spot in the East.
Jonathan Kuminga has played great basketball for the Hawks during the last three games, which have all been wins, and his time on the court with Jalen Johnson might become must-watch basketball. The hope is that this left knee issue isn't anything too serious.
Looking ahead a little bit, after playing the Bucks, Atlanta will return home for another five-game home stretch. It kicks off with the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, and the Hawks have the Mavericks, Nets, and Bucks again as their next four games.
This is a favorable stretch for Atlanta, which could afford to pick up some wins, as their last 10 games of the season will be a tough stretch, and the ultimate litmus test to see how the team fares against better opponents.
Either way, no news on the injury front is always huge at this time of the year, and hopefully the Hawks can capitalize on other NBA teams being without their star players.
