The Atlanta Hawks and head coach Quin Snyder have agreed to a multi-year contract extension.
Snyder has been with the Hawks since February 2023. He's 132-135 in the regular season and 4-8 in the playoffs.

Atlanta went 46-36 this season. Snyder and Co. lost to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs in six games despite taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Snyder is 504-399 in the regular season and 25-38 in the playoffs with the Utah Jazz and Hawks. He's never led his team past the second round of the playoffs.
Snyder's extension comes after the Hawks promoted Onsi Saleh to president of basketball operations. Atlanta also signed Saleh to a long-term contract extension.

In the post-Trae Young era, Atlanta is building around Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Johnson made his first All-Star team this year, Daniels won the Most Improved Player of the Year Award last season and Alexander-Walker won it this season.
Saleh traded Young to the Washington Wizards for Corey Kispert and CJ McCollum. He also traded Kristaps Porziņģis to the Golden State Warriors for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield.
Snyder's deal does not come as a surprise. Many around the NBA expected Snyder to receive an extension, especially after Saleh reached an agreement on a new deal of his own first.
The Hawks face an opportunity to add more talent into the fold using the No. 8 and No. 23 picks in the upcoming draft. Atlanta is confident that whoever is drafted, Snyder will put them in a position to succeed.
