The shooting struggles of Zaccharie Risacher have been well chronicled for the Atlanta Hawks this season.
It was expected that Risacher, a former No.1 overall NBA Draft Pick, would see some improvements in the scoring department from his rookie season. However, it's really been the exact opposite.
Risacher is in the midst of the worst shooting stretch in his career, and you could try to point to the injury he sustained earlier this year that kept him out nearly a month, but at this point, he has not been on the Hawks' injury report in any game, and there have been no reports of him laboring with any type of injury.
According to Underdog's X account, Zaccharie Risacher is in some concerning company with other former number one overall draft picks.
"1st Overall Picks over the last 50 years that have totaled fewer than 750 points in their 2nd season (min. 40 games played):"
Kwame Brown (593), ZACCHARIE RISACHER (457), Anthony Bennett (298)
The post indicates that Risacher is on pace to score well below 750 points, and since the Hawks have played once since Underdog came out with that post, Risacher is now at 464 total points for the season, and still not on pace to reach the 750-point mark.
Risacher has played in 44 games for the Hawks this season and is averaging 10.4 points on 44% shooting. He only averages about three rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as well, so it's not like he's much of a factor in other aspects on the court.
The Hawks have 23 games left in the 2025-26 season, so Risacher, who has 464 points on the season, will have to average 12.4 points per game to reach the 750-point mark.
Risacher's scoring output in the last 8 Hawks' games: 7, 4, 10, 5, 3, 18, 0.
Judging by that current trend, Risacher will have to mix in a few 20-point performances if he wants to remove his name from that dreaded NBA draft busts graphic.
