Dyson Daniels scored a season-high 28 points and CJ McCollum added 23 as the Atlanta Hawks bounced back from the end of their win streak to beat the Golden State Warriors 126-110 on Saturday night.

Dyson Daniels scored 28 points, CJ McCollum added 23, and the Atlanta Hawks bounced back from their first loss in nearly two weeks with a 126-110 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

Daniels set the tone early, scoring 15 points in the first quarter alone, setting a career high, and finished 12-of-17 from the field with six assists and four steals. He also knocked down two three-pointers, a season high

"Better than CJ tonight from 3," coach Quin Snyder said. "That's what I told him after the game. You guys can check the box."

Daniels deflected the praise and kept it simple.

"Every night is kind of the same for me," he said. "I'm trying to come in and do my job. Tonight I was wide open with the threes. I made them. So hopefully I'm wide open next time, too."

The Hawks were motivated to bounce back after having an 11-game winning streak ended by the Rockets the night before in a 117-95 loss in Houston. Daniels felt the third quarter was Atlanta returning to playing its brand of basketball, outscoring the Warriors, 37-19.

"That third quarter where we came out and really put the game away was how we've been playing on that win streak," he said.

Snyder felt the Hawks benefited from a halftime conversation that sparked improvement. A few of the focuses included tightening up defensively and on the boards, while pushing the pace.

"We had a productive halftime conversation about what we needed to do in the second half differently in terms of intensity defensively, securing rebounds and getting out and running," McCollum said. "I think we did that well."

Mouhamed Gueye started in place of Jalen Johnson, who sat out with left shoulder inflammation, and stepped up significantly. Gueye ended the night shooting 6-of-6 from the floor and totaled 16 points and 10 rebounds.

"Mo is so impactful for us on the defensive end," Snyder said. "He's done a really good job just being spaced and ready, and we have confidence in him shooting that ball."

Gueye credited the locker room chemistry the Hawks have built during their recent run.

"The locker room has been really energetic," he said. "Guys have been hanging out off the court and then on the court. Winning helps. You win games, the better vibe. The new guys that have come in have really boosted that. It's just a good feeling."

Zaccharie Risacher added 17 points off the bench and Nickeil Alexander-Walker chipped in 17 as the Hawks shot 54 percent from the floor and won their 10th consecutive home game. McCollum credited Daniels and Gueye's work habits for their big nights.

"Dyson probably shoots too much in terms of the things that he does on off days," McCollum said. "He's always in the gym before practice, after practice. The reps are there. It's just about confidence and then translating to game action. But we always know he's going to be ready to play whether he's making threes or not."

Daniels said the win felt necessary given Atlanta's standing in the playoff race.

"This was one of the ones we needed," he said. "It's a crucial time for us. We need wins. So I'm glad we got this one."

Jonathan Kuminga played his first game against his former team since being traded to Atlanta in February after spending over four seasons in Golden State. He was limited to two points on 1-of-9 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench.

De'Anthony Melton led the Warriors with 20 points. Will Richard added 18 off the bench and Brandin Podziemski finished with 12 points and four assists. Golden State has lost eight of its last nine and was without Stephen Curry, Kristaps Porzingis, Moses Moody, Al Horford, and Seth Curry.

Atlanta hosts the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
