Hawks' surprising win streak, smart roster moves, and unexpected draft positioning – Bobby Marks unpacks Atlanta's playoff charge and the NBA's jockeying.

The Atlanta Hawks are the hottest team in the NBA, as they have lost just one game since the All-Star break, recently rattled off 11-straight wins, and currently have an 11-game home winning streak.

The turnaround can be credited to several things, but one thing is for sure, the Hawks emerging as a threat in the Eastern Conference is gaining notice from across the NBA media landscape.

ESPN's Bobby Marks recently made a guest appearance on 680 The Fan: Atlanta sports radio to discuss and break down the Hawks' current playoff push, the NBA Draft, and more.

Marks kicks off the guest appearance by explaining how the Hawks surged into the position they are in, and mentions some of the best moves they made in recent months and prior to the season:

"They've done a really nice job as far as some of the additions they've made um with Nickeil [Alexander-Walker]. It's probably one of one of the better contracts in the NBA and the Kuminga trade of course, and you get a pretty good pick in the lottery when we get to June here."

Towards the end of the interview with Marks, he talks about the popular topic in conversations of NBA teams' tanking for better draft prospects, and how the Hawks are in a different situation.

"I think the agent as far as jockeying who gets what, I think is going to be pretty fascinating because yeah, I mean there's teams up there that are going to be in a in a long rebuild as far as from where they're where their clients are and there's going to be teams certainly where Atlanta is and Indiana is another team that can get a really good lottery pick and it can really jumpst start you to really good things."

The Hawks have put on a very strong display of winning over the month of March, and look to earn either the fifth or sixth seed to earn a playoff series in the NBA playoffs, which begin in April.
