Trae Young and the Washington Wizards are scheduled to play the Atlanta Hawks several times this coming season.
The stage is set for what projects as star guard Trae Young's first time taking the floor in Atlanta since he was traded last season.
The former Atlanta Hawks cornerstone, now with the Washington Wizards, can expect to play his old team four times this coming season.
As long as he's healthy and available, his first action back in Atlanta will come on Nov. 6 in an NBA Cup game. Atlanta and Washington are also scheduled to play two days before that in D.C.

Young returned to Atlanta last season with the Wizards after being traded but didn't play due to injury. This season, he should finally get a chance to play his old team both at home and on the road.
The Hawks pulled the plug on the Young era last season, sending him to Washington in exchange for guard C.J. McCollum and wing Corey Kispert. It marked the end of an important chapter in franchise history for Atlanta, even though many were able to recognize that it was time.
In his Hawks tenure, Young earned four All-Star nods, one All-NBA selection and took the team on a memorable run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.
In addition, he established himself as one of the best playmakers in the game, averaging 9.8 assists per game during his stint, including three seasons with 10+ assists per game and one season where he led the league in that department (11.6).
His scoring was also nothing to sneeze at. Even though he wasn't always the most efficient player in the NBA, he averaged a whopping 25.2 points per game during his tenure.
But it was clear that the Hawks needed to make some changes after failing to win a playoff series since 2021. The Young era had run its course, and Atlanta is now entering a stage in which star forward Jalen Johnson is the new centerpiece alongside lots of other exciting pieces.
Young, for his part, will look to make a mark with the Wizards, who gave him a large deal this offseason. He appeared in just five games for Washington last season but is now in line to be a huge part of the team's future.
