Alexander-Walker ignites Atlanta's offense, shattering the Hawks' single-season 3-point record. His remarkable scoring surge propels his impressive Most Improved Player campaign.

With Nickeil Alexander-Walker's seven made 3-pointers on Monday night, he is now the new Atlanta Hawks franchise record holder for made 3-pointers in a single NBA season with 241 and counting. The previous record holder had been Bogdan Bogdanović, and Trae Young followed him with a few seasons with 230+ 3-pointers.

In Atlanta's 108-105 loss to the New York Knicks, Alexander-Walker put on a scoring clinic, going 12-for-19 from the field and 7/11 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points, furthering his Most Improved Player in the NBA case.

Over his 10-year NBA career, Alexander-Walker's scoring average is 10.4 points in 456 games.

NAW signed with the Hawks in the offseason, which has been the far-and-away best season of his career. In 76 games this season, NAW has averaged nearly 21 points on an impressive 40% 3-point shooting and over 90% from the FT line. The free-throw shooting is a nearly 12% increase in his career. The thing that also makes his breakout so impressive is that he's also taken nearly seven more shots per game in this season, as the Hawks' top playmaker.

Among the many top qualities Alexander-Walker has, he also plays just about every game. He's at 76 games played this season, and has the chance to play a total of 79 if he finishes out the last three games. In the previous two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, NAW played all 82 games. He's just not a player who is going to sit out for any reason.

The Hawks still have some work to do, but they will lean heavily on Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jalen Johnson into the NBA playoffs, which starts in a little more than two weeks.
