Veteran center Tony Bradley joins the Hawks, adding much-needed size and playoff experience to bolster their lineup before a crucial playoff push.
The Atlanta Hawks announced Monday morning that they have signed veteran center Tony Bradley. The agreements of the deal have not been disclosed at this time.
Bradley, in his eighth NBA season, has played 230 total games for the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Indiana Pacers.
In 2025, Bradley has played 38 games with the Pacers. He's averaging 4.0 points in those 38 games on 55% shooting.
This signing doesn't come as a huge surprise, as the Hawks recently lost center Jock Landale to a severe injury that will leave Landale sidelined for at least the next two weeks.
The Hawks have a huge Eastern Conference matchup at home on Monday night against the New York Knicks. Tony Bradley is available, but it will be up to Quin Snyder to decide how he wants to utilize him.
Per NBA.com's write-up of this signing, this is somewhat of a reunion deal for Tony Bradley:
"The 6-11 center began the 2024-25 season with the College Park Skyhawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, before finishing the season helping to lead the Indiana Pacers to the NBA Finals. He has appeared in 20 career playoff contests, including 11 games during the 2025 NBA Playoffs."
As for what this signing means for the Hawks, it's a clear positional depth move ahead of April's NBA playoffs, which the Hawks are preparing for. At 6-11, Bradley is another size option at the center position.
Onyeka Okongwu is the clear starting option at center for Snyder and the Hawks, and Mouhammed Gueye likely still slots in as the hybrid center/power forward option when Okongwu needs a rest.
While it's unclear how much Tony Bradley will actually play with the Hawks, this is still a solid signing for Atlanta ahead of a potential playoff push.
