The Atlanta Hawks traded Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks.
Zaccharie Risacher took to Instagram after the Atlanta Hawks traded him to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Hawks parted ways with Risacher just two years after taking him with the first pick in the 2024 draft.
The Thunder traded Luguentz Dort to the Hawks in a three-team deal that sent three second-round picks to Oklahoma City, Risacher to the Mavericks and Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta.
Risacher will make $13,826,040 next season after his third-year club option was picked up.
"When I got drafted, I didn't know what to expect," Risacher wrote on IG. "I was in a new country, playing at the highest level, and Atlanta opened the door for me, as a place to call home. Some nights were everything I dreamed of. Others were harder than I ever imagined. Each of them has helped me grow as a player, and as a person. I'm grateful for that.

Last season with the Hawks, Risacher played in 67 games and averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field, 36.8% from beyond the arc, and 64.4% from the free-throw line. The 21-year-old played 22.4 minutes per game.
The Hawks went 46-36 last season. They lost to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs in six games and Risacher only played in Games 1, 4 and 6.
Atlanta is building around Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels in the post-Trae Young era. The Hawks, of course, traded Young to the Washington Wizards.
Risacher averaged 11.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game with Atlanta. He now heads to Dallas to play with Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving.
Mavericks president Masai Ujiri and general manager Mike Schmitz targeted Risacher this summer and add him to a retooling roster around young players under new coach Dusty May.
The Hawks have been busy this offseason. Before trading Risacher and acquiring Dort and Nembhard, they re-signed CJ McCollum and Jock Landale, acquired Devin Carter from the Sacramento Kings and Aaron Wiggins from the Thunder, declined Jonathan Kuminga's team option and drafted Kingston Flemings, Zuby Ejiofor and Henri Veesaar.
