Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo and WNBA star A'ja Wilson are among the hottest couples in sports.
They share playful banter about each other on social media. They talk about their relationship long as it's within reason. Wilson, who plays for the Las Vegas Aces, recently opened about their dating.
The two have been a couple for the past few years.
“We just wanted to make sure that we were secure in ourselves, our relationship, and our foundation,” Wilson said in an interview with Vanity Fair. “People know more than they knew before, but it’s still a situation that we hold really close to us only because this world is nasty.”
There were plenty of rumors about their relationship but it was pretty much confirmed during the 2024 Olympics. Both were representing the country but also showed support for each other by attending games.
Wilson said the key to their partnership is keeping it fun.
“That is why I love our relationship—we never lose the fun,” Wilson said. "We’re just really two big kids.”
Adebayo is expected to return for another season with the Heat. Team president Pat Riley has repeatedly said Adebayo is one of the cornerstone pieces for the organization. Last season ended in disappointment with the Heat missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. It concluded with a loss to the Charlotte Hornets in the Play-In Tournament but now has them in the NBA Draft Lottery. The Heat pick at No. 13.
Meanwhile, Wilson is considered the best player in the WNBA. She has won three championships and four MVPs since being the No. 1 pick in 2018. It appears Adebayo and Wilson are in the relationship for the long haul.
She has hinted she wants to focus on a family life once her playing days end.
“I would love to just dive into being a wife, being a mother,” Wilson said. “Being an amazing daughter to my parents, that is always my number one goal.... My mom’s like, ‘Well, I want to go to cities I’ve never been to.’ I’m like, ‘Well, we got a long list to do, girl.’ ”
