Amid trade frenzy and whispers of superstars, Bam Adebayo urges focus: "Control what you can control," as the Miami Heat chase consistency and a championship window.

As the Miami Heat continue searching for consistency, the roster is still subject to change for the time being, as the trade deadline reaches its final hours. It's no secret that the organization is chasing Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, rumors have circulated that the Heat are eyeing two-time All-Star Ja Morant.

Regardless of what happens, Bam Adebayo shares a message for his teammates during times of uncertainty:

"Control what you can control," he said. "It's easier said than done. You try to ease the guys' minds. Winning makes it easier to go to the trade deadline for everybody."

"Can't control what happens up there [in the front office].

The Heat have struggled to string wins together, especially in January, going 8-9.

After starting the regular season strong, the team's offense has been inconsistent, resulting in losses and a fall in the Eastern Conference standings. A key factor has been the extended absence of Tyler Herro. The All-Star guard has only appeared in 11 games, averaging 21.9 points on 49.7 percent shooting from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

The 26-year-old missed an early portion of the season while recovering from offseason left ankle surgery. He's missed the previous 10 games with a right costochondral rib injury, with no current timetable for a potential return.

Herro has been mentioned in trade rumors, especially in regard to Antetokounmpo. As a Milwaukee native, that's an automatic connection with the Bucks organization.

The Heat have other young, talented players who could maneuver a deal, such as Nikola Jovic, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Pelle Larsson, and Kel'el Ware. Also, they have a couple of expiring contracts in veteran forward Andrew Wiggins, who's been linked to the Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, and recently-named All-Star Norman Powell.

The Heat have two tradeable first-round picks: 2030 and 2032. They can offer first-round pick swaps for 2026, 2029, and 2031.

The organization doesn't seek a rebuild, but rather targets a superstar.

Antetokounmpo would require a significant haul. However, Morant's value on the trade market is excruciatingly low.

The Heat is competing with other franchises for either star. The front office is likely evaluating future salaries as well. It was reported that the organization is protecting its financial books for the 2027 free agency class, which possibly consists of Nikola Jokic, Donovan Mitchell, and Anthony Davis.

The trade deadline closes on Thursday, Feb. 5th, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
