While some are still marveling at Bam Adebayo's 83-point performance against the Washington Wizards, some are still downplaying it for his inefficiency and high free-throw percentage. They also think that he was purposefully chasing the accolade instead of playing an actual game of basketball.

But for every criticism, a star player is defending the Miami Heat star and encapsulating the true legend of what he did on Tuesday. The latest to defend Adebayo was Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who's seen his fair share of the Heat center throughout the Heat-Celtics rivalry.

"Records are meant to be broken," Brown said on a recent stream. "I think two things can be true. You can look at the facet of which it was broken and complain, or you could just acknowledge the fact that Bam Adebayo had a great game. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. I don’t see why there has to be any criticism. If anybody deserves the criticism, it’s the Washington Wizards."

Adebayo etched himself in the record books with an all-time performance that no one could've seen coming. He scored the second-most single-game points in NBA history, going 20-of-43 from the field and 36-of-43 from the free-throw line. While fans, analysts, former players, and outsiders still debate the legitimacy or ethicality of the performance, Adebayo and those around him continue recognizing it as the stellar night it was.

"Y'all are blaming me; you should be blaming their head coach," Adebayo said in a postgame press conference. "Get that first. I was not the one letting me go one-on-one the whole game until I had 70, and then you started to send a double."

The Heat play the Charlotte Hornets (34-34) on Tuesday night.
