Miami Heat team president Pat Riley had his end-of-the-season press conference Monday at Kaseya Center

Here's a quick breakdown on what Miami Heat team president Pat Riley had to say about the state of the organization:

On his future with the organization: "A lot of inaccurate portrayals, coverage or whatever it is about me. I haven't talked to Micky since the end of the season. I had one long conversation with Nick after the exit interviews. I'm not going to retire. I'm not going to resign. I'm not going to step aside."

On staying successful: "When I came here, it was 31 years ago. I have the same attitude as I had in that press conference. I want another parade down Biscayne Boulevard. It may come, it may not. It's always been my desire to win. I would appreciate from all of you to respect of not going down that road. It's not going to happen unless something happens that I can't control."

On the Play-In Tournament streak: "I'm really pissed," Riley said. "I'm disappointed just like everybody else in the organization the last three or four years except for the 2023 season when we got all the way to the Finals. It's something that I'm not proud of. I'm always trying to compete. Whether you're doing it from a Play-In standpoint, the six seed or the top three or four, the imaginations are and your feelings about how you go about things are the same. We've always been a team that tries to win and competes to win."

On fighting for the Play-In Tournament: "I'm not going to apologize for being a Play-In team," Riley said. "We didn't want that but we would have loved to have got {the six seed]. I think at the trading deadline this year  when everybody was clamoring about trade this guy and that guy for an asset. I'm not thinking about trading anybody for an asset. I thinking about we're at the six spot at the time at the trading deadline, so I should just let the year go and move on and get more assets? When we traded Jimmy basically, we made a decision and talked a lot about what we should do over that very, very ugly two-month period. We finally made a decision it was better to keep our young players, our draft capital and to get [Andrew Wiggins] and [Davion Mitchell], Kyle Anderson and a first, which were four different assets that could complement Tyler, Bam, etc. And then in the summer when we did the Duncan deal, we got a trade exception out of it. We still got it. And we got Norman Powell ... Now we have more flexibility. We got more assets."
