NBA legends Robert Horry and James Worthy blasted Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic's dismal performance, questioning rotation spot as pressure mounts to justify a massive $62 million contract extension.

Following the Miami Heat's 138-117 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena, Nikola Jovic's struggles were met with jabs thrown by a couple of prolific analysts.

The Serbian forward finished with just two points on 33.3 percent shooting and one rebound in seven minutes – the second and fourth quarters. Jovic's defensive miscues are what primarily got him benched. When breaking down film, Lakers analyst and seven-time NBA Champion Robert Horry didn't want to spend time getting to know the 23-year-old.

"You got this guy, I don't even know who he is, No. 5 (Jovic), he didn't do his job," he said. "That's why he didn't play much."

It's not the first time Jovic has struggled, but it has never been met with shade from a former player before. The fifth-year forward is known to be inconsistent, which has resulted in fewer minutes or being knocked out of the rotation. Jovic has received numerous opportunities to prove to the Heat and fans that he can be relied upon.

However, the results haven't been so promising.

After the film breakdown, analyst, Hall of Famer, and three-time NBA Champion James Worthy described Jovic as "looking lost."

It's not a good sign when two former and successful players look down on you and share disappointing thoughts.

Jovic hasn't translated this season the remarkable offensive rhythm found in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers. In four matches, he averaged 20 points on 66.7 percent shooting, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 22.5 minutes. Granted, the roles are different for Jovic, but the opportunities can be similar.

The Heat need a return on investment as the four-year, $62.4 million extension that was signed last fall has officially kicked in. It doesn't feature any player or team options and it's fully guaranteed.

Jovic was kept out of the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster trade, which included a package surrounding Kasparas Jakucionis, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and All-Star Tyler Herro. The Heat have expressed strong belief in him, but the promising talent and flashes have yet to be consistently on display on the court. As a championship contender, patience isn't a luxury as it was over the last couple of seasons, especially with Antetokounmpo's pending extension.

There are still three months and eight days before this season's Feb. 11, 2027 trade deadline. Jovic will likely continue to play meaningful minutes, but he needs to deliver a consistent winning impact or head coach Erik Spoelstra will be forced to potentially make changes to the rotation.

Still in the midst of a five-game West Coast road trip, the Heat will return to the court on Wednesday night to face the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. E.T. and will be televised on WPLG Local 10.
