Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is among the NBA's biggest agitators, especially when it comes to LeBron James.
He is, however, not big on complimenting others. Apparently, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is the exception During a recent interview, Brooks was asked how he felt about the players ranked ahead of him on league's top players lists.
Brook said Adebayo was deserving of his spot above him.
"I love playing against him," Brooks said. "We always go back and forth. I'd leave him there."
Adebayo is in the middle of one of the best seasons in his career. He is averaging 19.8 points and 2.9 assists for the Heat, who are trying to avoid the Play-In Tournament again. They are tied with the Orlando Magic for the No. 7 spot but are just one game behind the Toronto Raptors.
The Heat have won eight of the last 10 games, including five straight. The Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Charlotte Hornets are among the team they have defeated during the winning streak. Adebayo is a huge reason why the Heat perhaps playing their best basketball of the season.
Adebayo, a three-time All-Star, recently became just the second player in franchise history to surpass 10,000 points. The other is Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, who has 21,556. That's pretty impressive considering the list of ex-Heat players include Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway and Glen Rice.
"It's a lot of buckets," Adebayo said. "It means a lot, coming somewhere who got drafted to play defense. Everybody thinking I was just a lob threat. It just shows the growth in my game. Obviously, this organization believes in me. I've been here that long where I can get [10,000] with the same team. Obviously, be in the history book behind someone like [Wade]. It's a great accomplishment, I'm glad I got it on a [win] too."
Adebayo had 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the victory against the Pistons, who are the top team in the Eastern Conference. The Heat return to action Tuesday against the Washington Wizards before facing Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday at Kaseya Center.
