NBA Champion Calls For Miami Heat To Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo cover image

Three-time NBA champion Danny Green believes the Miami Heat should make a blockbuster trade for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Miami Heat are one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season with a record of 14-7.

Few expected the Heat to have this level of success after losing Jimmy Butler at last year's trade deadline and the Terry Rozier drama to begin the 2025-2026 campaign. Instead, Norman Powell is having an All-Star-level year, Jaime Jaquez Jr. has bounced back from his sophomore slump, and more.

To no one's surprise, the Heat are yet again linked to a superstar, who may be available for trade in the coming months. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may be growing unhappy in his current situation, given the team has a record of 9-13.

Three-time NBA champion Danny Green believes Miami is the ideal destination for Antetokounmpo.

"He wants to do a big city. If it's not New York, you're saying not OKC, I'm looking at maybe Miami," Green said on the No Fouls Given podcast. "You need Kel'el Ware. You keep Bam [Adebayo], keep them together. You got Kel'el Ware, [Nikola] Jovic, you got [Simone] Fontecchio, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and then Andrew Wiggins. Those young kids with the picks, though—you get those guys with picks, and then throw in Wiggs with money and fit."

This scenario became much more possible in recent days, as the Antetokounmpo trade rumors are heating up.

On Tuesday, Antetokounmpo deleted all of his X posts from the last roughly four years and deleted all Bucks-related content from his Instagram outside of a post from the NBA Finals and NBA Cup. While there's a chance this was just a personal decision by the 30-year-old, it was undeniably cryptic.

Fast forward to Wednesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported the following:

"Just in: Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP's future – and discussing whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere, sources tell ESPN. A resolution is expected in the coming weeks," Charania posted to X.

Antetokounmpo is having another MVP-caliber season, averaging 30.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists on 63.9% shooting, so the Heat would be lucky to acquire him for the return Green discussed.
