The two-time MVP signals a long-term commitment to South Beach, buying a 8-bedroom estate following the franchise’s massive blockbuster deal to land the superstar.

The Miami Heat finally had the offseason many fans were hoping for. For years, the team has been looking for a big-name player to add to this team and they did so by adding two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks as part of one of the biggest blockbuster deals of the decade. It wasn't cheap as the Heat were forced to part with four players as part of the deal: 2025 All-Star guard Tyler Herro, center Kel'el Ware, wing Jaime Jaquez Jr. and guard Kasparas Jakucionis. As part of the trade, the Heat also acquired big man Bobby Portis, who won a title with Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee in 2021. Antetokounmpo is one of the biggest additions in the franchise's history without even playing a single minute yet.

With that in mind, Antetokounmpo is expected to be the big piece of the Heat's foreseeable future. However, the 32-year-old is only under contract for this season with a $62.7 million player option set for next season from his three-year, $186 million extension signed in October 2023 with Milwaukee. He is expected to opt into his upcoming player option if not extended, considering the Heat went all-in to acquire him but extension conversations will need to get going sooner rather than later. However, despite the fact he is not under contract for more than two seasons at the moment, the superstar reportedly bought a new $13.5 million house in Miami.

This new home is a big distinction from his previous house in Milwaukee. While with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo lived in a $1.8 million mansion in River Hills, Wisconsin which made for about a 15-minute drive to the team's arena. Now, he's paying almost 13 times that amount in Pinewood, a suburb of the South-Miami Dade area. The new home has eight bedrooms and sits on a one-acre lot. It also features a swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen. From Pinewood, the commute is about a 20-minute drive to Kaseya Center.

Funny enough, there is a somehow a connection to Herro. The former Heat guard lived right around the corner from Antetokounmpo's new house and listed his former home for $12 million.

It's safe to feel confident that Pat Riley and company will get an extension done with Antetokounmpo and it's also hard to believe the Heat would have made the blockbuster deal without receiving any unofficial confirmation that Antetokounmpo would like to remain a member of the franchise for more than two seasons. This recent house purchase is another step in the right direction for the superstar to remain a member of the Heat long-term.
