The Miami Heat are one team who could be active this offseason. After striking out at the trade deadline by making zero moves, the team will enter the offseason with a multitude of assets including both players and draft picks. The big name will be Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo when it comes to trade discussions and a deal certainly would not be cheap for Miami. If they whiff on Antetokounmpo, there are plenty of other names expected to be available in trade discussions. Even with the idea of potentially holding out until the 2027 free agency period, the Heat could be primed to make a big deal this offseason.

CBS Sports released an article, highlighting some of the biggest potential trade candidates this offseason. Among some of the bigger names is Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr., who was recently dealt last offseason.

"Michael Porter Jr. falls somewhere between the two in terms of both value and eagerness for a move," the article wrote. "The Nets have a history of dangling players at deadlines, refusing to move them during the season for anything less than peak value, and then actually getting that value over the summer. It happened for Mikal Bridges. It happened for Cam Johnson. We may be watching it play out now with Porter Jr. He's having an All-Star-caliber season in Brooklyn, and it's possible that someone who struggles to score in the playoffs comes to the Nets with a real offer over the summer after no one did so in recent weeks. Keep in mind, though, that the Nets have no incentive to tank next season as the Rockets control their first-round pick. They likely wouldn't mind winning next season, so they won't trade Porter unless it's a strong offer."

The Heat will have Norman Powell and Terry Rozier's salaries off the books with their expiring contracts. While there is a scenario where the team brings back Powell, Rozier's career in Miami and the NBA seems just about wrapped up. The big question surrounds Andrew Wiggins, who has a player option. It is unknown whether or not he will pick up the option but if he does, he still could be viewed as a trade piece.

Porter Jr. has had a resurgent season with the Nets and has established himself as a pure scorer. He has faced criticism for his lack of facilitation but the 27-year-old is averaging a career-high in points with a massive increase in field goal attempts. Porter Jr. could be viewed as a trade candidate for Miami this offseason as they potentially look for more perimeter shooting.
