The Miami Heat are one team expected to make a franchise-swinging move this offseason. The big name consistently brought up is Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been included in trade talks all season long. However, if the Heat want to add some contributors without parting with too much talent, here are some under-the-radar names who the Heat could look to add through free agency.
1. Gary Harris, Milwaukee Bucks
Harris, 31, has always been a solid three-point shooter throughout his decade-long career. After a few middling seasons with the Orlando Magic, he joined the Bucks last offseason on a two-year deal with a $3.8 million player option for the 2026-27 season. With Milwaukee, Harris never got a real chance to shine as the team prioritized getting younger players some minutes as they are entering a rebuild. However, he made the most of his limited opportunities, shooting 41.2 percent from three-point range and 88.9 percent from the free throw line. The Heat could use a perimeter shooter and if Harris does not exercise his player option, he will be a strong option out of free agency who should not cost too much.
2. Marvin Bagley III, Dallas Mavericks
Bagley's career has certainly not panned out the way many expected when he was selected No. 2 overall in 2018. He has bounced around multiple teams over the past few campaigns and ended up in Dallas for the latter half of this season. With Dallas, Bagley had more opportunities given how injury-plagued their rotation was and he played well. Bagley, 27, averaged 11 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 60.6 percent from the field and 48.5 percent from three-point range in 22 games. He's still relatively young and if the Heat include Kel'el Ware in a package for Antetokounmpo, that will leave a void in the frontcourt. Bagley would be a solid backup option for Miami.
3. Amir Coffey, Phoenix Suns
Coffey has made a career out of being a solid bench wing and that is exactly what the Heat could use this offseason. The 28-year-old was with the Clippers for every season of his career until last offseason when he signed a cheap deal with the Bucks. He had struggles in Milwaukee, later being dealt to the Suns at the trade deadline, where he improved upon his shooting numbers in 16 games played. With Norman Powell set to hit free agency and the future unknown for players such as Tyler Herro and Andrew Wiggins, Coffey could be a solid bridge option to play at shooting guard or small forward as a bench piece.
