I don't want to use the cliche "this team can't lose right now", but the Charlotte Hornets genuinely can not lose right now.

The Charlotte Hornets continued their road trip with a 126-119 win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was anything but easy, though.

The Hornets and Hawks had an all out rock fight in the first half of this game. In fact, Atlanta was able to stay out in front for a good portion of the half until it ended up being 60-60 game going into the halftime break.

Things got chippy a few times between Charlotte and Atlanta with the teams even having to be separated at one point when Moussa Diabate got roughed up during a play.

The game stayed back and forth until all the way until the final two minutes where Moussa Diabate hit a series of big shots to edge the Hornets out in front a little bit further and Kon Knueppel hit a three to really make it hurt for Atlanta.

Atlanta managed to bring it back to a one point game with 26.3 seconds to go after a pair of Jalen Johnson free throws on what was a questionable foul on Brandon Miller to say the least.

On the other end, LaMelo Ball was fouled and hit a pair of gorgeous free throws to put the Hornets back up three, Atlanta couldn't convert on the other end , Brandon Miller was then fouled after the rebound and that's what took Charlotte to the finish line as Hawk fans filed for the exits.

The Charlotte Hornets are now on the second best winning streak in franchise history since the 1998 Hornets that so many people remember as the best stretch in history of the team. That was a team that included Muggsy Bogues, Glen Rice, and of course, Dell Curry.

When the Hornets host the Detroit Pistons tomorrow night, they'll have a chance to tie the franchise's best win streak at ten games against a team that still sits at the top of the Eastern Conference by 4.5 games.

The Hornets are continuing to show that they are getting tougher by winning in a multitude of ways, including games like this one against Atlanta where it was an intense battle from start to finish.
